I'll dominate 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Joshua
The British boxer is set to fight the American YouTuber in an eight-round contest which will be shown in real-time on Netflix.
Briton Joshua said he will "dominate completely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants came face-to-face to promote next month's boxing match.
Former two-time world heavyweight champion Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge uneven pairing - at Miami's venue on December 19th.
Fighter's Attitude
"I plan to break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove my superiority," the British boxer, 35, said.
"I plan to overwhelm him. That's how fighters think.
"I'm going to really want to injure him. That's my intention."
Civil Interaction
In spite of those words, a calm Joshua and social media star Paul - usually famous for his showmanship - exchanged pleasantries and kept it respectful with each other.
Paul rather attacked ex Joshua's rival the Cameroonian fighter and described him as "ridiculous" after the Cameroonian declined a match opportunity.
Targeting Fury
Joshua, in the meantime, took aim at British rival Fury - and declined a million-pound wager 'Tyson Fury' claims he will make on a Paul victory.
"[Paul] is better than Tyson Fury - he's present here," the boxer said.
"I acknowledge that."
Serious Opponent
In spite of saying he intends to punish Paul, Joshua declined to talk badly about his rival's pugilistic talent.
"Jake is a legitimate boxer," he remarked.
Jake Paul's History
Paul - who originally gained popularity on the Disney Channel - has primarily boxed mixed martial artists or past-their-prime fighters since entering professional boxing.
He was defeated by Briton Tommy Fury in 2023.
Financial Attraction
Nevertheless, the novice is still one of boxing's greatest financial successes, regularly earning massive financial rewards.
Prediction and Belief
The 28 year old anticipated a stoppage in the fourth or fifth round and asserted he would derail the highly-expected match between Joshua and Fury, which is reportedly being planned for 2026.
"It will be my match with Fury in the coming year," Jake Paul stated.
Physical Difference
As the two fighters met for the traditional confrontation, with their size difference on show, it emphasized just how improbable this entire matchup is - and how remarkable it is that the bout is truly going ahead.
